Privacy

When you submit work, you give us:

• your name and email address;
• the country you are submitting from, if you tell us;
• the images or audio files you submit, and their titles, medium and details;
• anything you write in the message field.

If you are a represented artist with an account, we also hold your biography, statement and the works on your profile.

We never see your card details. Payment is taken on the secure pages of our payment provider. They tell us only that a payment succeeded, for how much, and a reference number.

To review your submission, to publish work that is accepted, to tell you about your own submission, and to keep the gallery’s exhibition records. We keep payment records because tax law requires it.

We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not send marketing you did not ask for.

We use a small number of service providers, and only these:

• A payment provider, which receives your name, email and card details directly from you.
• A website hosting provider, which serves these pages.
• A cloud storage provider, which holds the images and audio you submit.
• A database provider, which holds submissions and artist profiles.

They process data on our instructions, under contract, and may not use it for their own purposes. We do not add others without updating this page. If you would like them named, write to submissions@larkgallery.com and we will tell you.

All of them store data in the United States. If you submit from outside the US, your data is transferred there and held under the standard contractual clauses our providers operate.

Accepted work is published with your name and the details you supplied. Your email address, and anything you wrote in the message field, are never published.

If you are a represented artist, your profile appears only after you have confirmed it. We do not publish a profile you have not seen.

Published work and exhibition records are kept as part of the gallery’s archive, which is the point of an archive. Submissions that were not accepted are kept for two years and then deleted. Payment records are kept for seven years for tax purposes.

Write to submissions@larkgallery.com and you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. We will answer within 30 days.

If you are in the UK or the EU, you have these rights under the GDPR and may also complain to your national data protection authority. We rely on your consent for publishing your work, and on our legitimate interest in running a gallery for the rest.

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. We store your light or dark theme choice in your own browser, and if you log in as an artist we set a session cookie so you stay logged in. That is all.

Our open calls are open to all ages, and a parent or guardian must submit on behalf of anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from a child except through that parent or guardian.
