Artist Statement — AZIZA Azizova an Artist,

AzziArt Gallery LA owner, International art dealer.

My art is born from the fusion of intuition, spirit, and soul. Since I began painting in 2019, I have created over 3000 art works—each one a portal into a world of energy, love, and deep connection. I have more than 300 art collectors. Working with acrylic, oil, and mixed media, I move fluidly between figurative, abstract, and three-dimensional expressions, often combining them in a single piece to create movement, texture, and emotional resonance.

Inspired by the universe, nature, music, and the rhythms of life, my creative process is intuitive and often spontaneous. Ideas visit me at unexpected times—through the colors of a sunset, a melody, or the quiet of the night. My work explores themes of the cosmos, human connection, soul energy, and transformation. I often incorporate words, symbols, and planetary elements into my paintings, weaving layers of meaning that invite the viewer to look deeper.

I’ve developed my own unique techniques, including a signature “mosaic movement”, tale&mosaic and 3D textural style that gives form to invisible energies and unseen dimensions. My goal is to awaken the senses—to take people on a journey beyond the surface and into a space of spirit and imagination. You can feel movement, sound, soul, and life in every stroke.

Aziza Azizova started painting in March 2019. She is a self-taught artist. In that short time, her work has been on display at Marina del Rey, Silver Lake, Forest and Ocean Gallery in Laguna Beach, California, Azzi Art Gallery LA, Florence Biennale, during the Art Basel, Switzerland, Mag Gallery, Switzerland.Currently, her collection of acrylic and oil on canvas painting, has more than 3000 unique artworks, almost half of them have been sold to a private collectors.At this moment she has more than 350 artwork collectors.

She is a board member of The Arts Council of Los Angeles.

She has opened her own International AzziArt Gallery LA in 2021, located at 2370 Westwood Blvd Suite E, Los Angeles, CA 90064.

Being an artist entails embracing the freedom to explore, experiment, and push boundaries, while being open to new ideas and inspiration. Ultimately, being an artist allowed me to communicate my emotions, thoughts, and experiences with the world in a visually or audibly captivating way.

Marianna is a contemporary fiber artist who lives and works in South California. She has been working as a fiber artist for the last 5 years, distinguishing herself as a leader in the community.

My need to create has been an intricate part of who I am for as long as I can remember. I try to utilize reclaimed materials and found objects to compose works of art creating a reality that celebrates imperfection. My intent is to build points of nostalgia to start the conversation between the viewer and the piece.

Anahid Boghosian is an American - Armenian multi disciplinary artist who’s works include paintings, assemblage and installation. Her work is both captivating and inviting, achieved by her ability to express a unique point of view, that speaks to a universal truth. Her exceptional skill of translating the familiar with color and configuration evokes stylistic lessons of the classics and is inspired by her rich cultural history, combining abstract and human form.

This perspective stems from Anahid’s Armenian heritage. Themes of Los Angeles, women, and her culture are commonly the understory. Her use of discarded materials are always an intricate part of her artistic expression that allows her to weave a tapestry of tradition, intimacy and power. Anahid’s art recalls a sense of joy through the broken or not so pretty.

I spent over three decades drawing and painting people in places of communal exchange. My works brought opportunities to exhibit locally nationally and even internationally. Like Alice Neal I looked for the soul of each person.

In 2020 the pandemic brought change from the beauty and pain of each person to the serenity and spirituality inherent in nature. The world had become too overwhelming.

I had always added animals and birds and creatures into my works of people. Now birds in nature are the focus. I am blessed to have friends and others who offer their photography of bird moments from birding, hikes and moments catching a shot of a feathered friend. I am blessed with references that offer me inspiration. I embellish the backgrounds, interpreting foliage, trees, and skies with the patterns and forms from nature and my imagination. Insects both flying and otherwise are present or hidden.

Process is a huge part of my practice. I love mixing colors and relate to the colorist Pierre Bonnard. I never worry about the result, as this is a projection of a future, which none of us knows. I do the work and the shows follow.

My biggest joy and inspiration for all my artwork has and will always be my son. Being a mother forever teaches us the preciousness of all life.

Jodi Bonassi is from Los Angeles. Her narrative paintings and drawings explore diversity, and the human condition.

Exhibiting since 1991, her works have garnered reviews, awards and articles, locally and nationally. On “Chungking Alley” Mat Gleason quotes: “My impressions of the piece are that it asserts its own art historical narrative instead of submitting to academic structures and choices. Bonassi’s work has been reviewed/published in the Boston Globe, LA Times, Flavorpill, Hair's How Magazine (Russia),The Chronicle Review, Art and Living, Harpers Magazine, Studio Visit Magazine (2012, 2008, Ocean Press) and Los Angeles Art Association Volume 1 Catalogue (2009, Samuel Hoi, President of Otis College of Art and Design). She has exhibited locally and nationally and has been published internationally. She is the recipient of the Hans Burkhardt Memorial Scholarship and other awards of merit. Curators who have chosen her works for exhibition include Franklin Sirmans, Head Curator at LACMA, Ali Subotnik, Curator for the Hammer Museum and others. She also was selected to paint on a 9 foot fiber glass guitar to honor Lou Adler and the other founders of the Sunset Strip. The guitar sold in the top ten at Julien's Auction House. This was part of a re-vitalization program. Her work has been recognized by esteemed Los Angeles art critic, Peter Frank, Mat Gleason (renown art critic and gallery owner), Betty Brown, Highly respected Art Historian, Art Writer and Curator and others. Other noted curators are Jonathan Greene, Director of exhibitions for the Hunterdon Art Museum (2012), Ann Philbin from the Hammer Museum (2006), Cliff Benjamin from Western Projects (2008), Marc Pachter from the Smithsonian Institute, and other noteworthy curators. Bondar finds inspiration in her unique lifestyle as a painter and professional equestrian. Horses are a constant theme in Bondar’s work, but their influence can be felt

equally in the fluidity of movement present in her paintings of people, such as Freedom (2022). Since graduating from the Salvador Dali Art Institute in Kyiv, Bondar has participated in exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout Ukraine, where she is a member of the Union of Young Artists.

Contemporary Ukrainian painter Anna Bondar (aka Anna DAR) produces her works in a spiritual search for harmony. When the war broke out, Bondar was newly pregnant and living in Kyiv. When she attempted to visit her doctor for a check-in, she discovered that the clinic had been bombed. Initially determined to stay, Bondar decided that she had to leave for the good of her baby, and relocated to Marbella, Spain. There, she has created over 90 new works.

Initially trained in realist painting, Bondar came to the realization over time that realism

did not match her thoughts and ideals about contemporary art. Bondar began experimenting with different genres, techniques and materials, and developed a compositional style all her own. For Bondar, painting is “the language of feelings,” a way to speak what cannot be spoken.

My art is an expression of the life I see around me. I utilize color and stroke to bring forth an emotion from my paintings. Acrylic and watercolor are my main mediums as I love the challenge of the quick drying paint. Much of my art comes from pictures that I take with my cell phone while walking around Pasadena. The other pieces I create spring forth from my imagination.

Theresa Brekan has been an artist for most of her life. Growing up in Van Nuys, CA, her passion began during elementary school where her paintings and drawings received numerous awards. During high school she moved to Tempe, Arizona, where she painted large scale cotton and linen backdrops for Alleluia Ballet, as well as scenic work for her school theater productions. She displayed artwork at the Arizona State Fair, Tempe Sister Cities, the Alwun House "Swirling Daze" and other local shows. Her education as a Fine Art Major at the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas, with a focus on painting. Taking time to see the world, Theresa traveled to Prague, where she spent time sketching, painting, and sight- seeing. Theresa returned to Arizona, and while raising a family, developed her skills in graphic art and layout design. She volunteered at Camp Gan Israel East Valley summer camp teaching and developing the weekly art program for five years. She moved to Pasadena, CA where she continues to pursue her love of art. She works as a free lance graphic and layout design artist, paints as a scenic for the film industry, and published several children's books illustrations. Theresa loves making time outside of the studio to experience nature, drink coffee, and take walks along the beach with her husband, Ralph, and their five children.

The images in this submission show women breaking through internal struggles. In "Falling" the dancer hides her face behind a veil as she seems to be drifting unable to protect herself. In "Navigating" the female is underwater doing all she an to breath under water as she seeks to reach the surface. "In Head Above Water" the subject is able to breath with her head barely above the surface, while relaxing into her fate until she again gains control of her fate.

Joanne was born in the beautiful Midwestern University town, Ann Arbor, Michigan. While the natural surroundings of her childhood were inspiring, the beauty of nature surrounding Los Angeles was the impetus for her entrance into the field of photography. Joanne began vigorously studying photography and other art arenas to hone her skills as a visual artist. In 2000, she graduated from California State University, Los Angeles with a Masters of Fine Art (MFA). She is now a full-time artist.

In addition to color and black and white film, Joanne shoots digitally and employs the techniques of infrared imaging and enjoys creating 3D anaglyphs to be viewed with red/blue lenses. As an extension of photography, she has branched out to do videos and have a YouTube Channel, THE VIDEO ART OF JOANNE CHASE-MATTILLO. Along with nature, Joanne frequently photographs female and male subjects at themed studio shoots. She often uses the photograph of models combined with images of her nature photography to create unique photo montages.

Joanne has exhibited throughout California, nationally, in Korea, France, England, Switzerland, Scotland, Greece, Spain, Germany, Japan, Belgium, Holland, Brazil, Dubai and Italy. Her work has also been selected for Lunar Codex, a very special project partnered with SpaceX to deliver the images of art in a time capsule to be permanently affixed to the surface of the moon.

Highly influenced by artists like Hopper, Warhol, Lichtenstein, and Diebenkorn, I paints multicultural urban Los Angeles with all its contradictions and poetry.

I am trying to blend my classical European artistic background with contemporary conceptual approach. In the LA urban environment I am looking for and finding manifestations of eternal human values, such as love, faith, longing, and the strife for a better life. I try to see real people and their life through the facades of the buildings depicted with much love and connection.

I am a professional scientist, but my genetic makeup always pushed me to the artistic world. I preferred company of artists to the company of peers, which even manifested in my choice of spouses. So, being immersed in the artistic world all my life, I finally realized I needed to let my personal artistic juices out. And allow visceral part of me to kick in and get out.

As a scientist, I thought it will be a good idea to find a balance between cognitive and visceral sides. Hence, I decided to use opto-electronic approach to create images never existed before. But building blocks for creating these novel images are everyday very familiar objects. The closest definition for the final images will be ‘digital still-video’. The reason for that is that either the object involved in the creation of image is moving, or the imaging device, or both.

When creating an image, I seek, by transformation, to reveal in objects of everyday life what they can be, or manifest, given they are brought in motion, which is not particularly pertinent to their nature. So, it’s the opposite of what I try to do as a scientist, where molecular motion at nanoscopic level is translated into steady-state observations with opto-electronic devices.

I hope the approach to creating my images results in new and unexpected visual creations enriching viewers with new emotions and thoughts.

My life is a cascade of transitions, transformations, and quite unobvious and unpredictable revelations regarding what I was, am, and/or potentially can be. There are several examples of that throughout my lifespan. The pertinent one is that I started my adult life as a Ph.D. in Biophysics and may retire as an ‘artist’. The start happened in Russia, and retirement will, hopefully, happen in the US.

I am a metamodernist artist. My works are my experiences of witnessing tragic events in family and collective history, the complex interaction of an individual striving for freedom and a totalitarian country, transforming the experience of immigration.

My art is my way of sharing with viewer research into the metaphysical processes within us through our reflections based on the ideas and values ​​of humanism, through sensations, properties of the soul and personal experience. My artworks reflect the transformation of the soul following the path of development, striving to make this world a better place. My special interest is expressing the feeling of movement material and immaterial, creation forms and visual images of such subtle concepts as energy and thought. I share my ideas with the viewer through metaphors and symbols. The idea in my work is the leader and determines the method of embodiment. My work can awaken in the viewer a feeling familiar to everyone, when in childhood we sought to know what is beyond the horizon - somewhere beyond our perception there is something that we cannot yet see, but we know that it exists. This search and expectation of the unknown is a key element of my work. It is important for me to leave a motivating message for future generations.

I’m from Ukraine. I came to USA in 2019. In 2022 I felt that I wanted to express my inner ideas end energy through collages and this process was very inspiring and fulfilling for me. In 2024 I started creating paintings, using textures, acrylic. My paintings have received 12 certificates of participation in online Biafarin platform and participated in several group exhibitions in 2024. Artsy selected my paintings to be featured on it.

I understand art as a way of emotionally experiencing reality and a universal language of

communication.

Without conscious e?ort and thought, I try to fill my paintings with expressions strong

enough to let the spectator feel the energy put in the depth of the canvas, transforming the

perception of picture into his own art act.

Most recently, I find myself inspired to focus on developing and exploring the connection

between iconography and abstraction in light of Cosmism philosophy. The inspiration of

this uniquely blended style came about as briefly explained in the following.

I believe that abstract painting was and still is an artist’s attempt at capturing and

expressing Plato's world of ideas which is invisible to the earthly eyes. Then, at the

beginning of the 20th century came the avant-gardism of Filonov and Malevich which was a

rebellion against physicality, materialism and petty-bourgeois consumption.

Iconography takes its roots from the symbiosis of antique vivid imagery and spiritual

practices of Ancient Egypt. From ancient times to the present day, man has never stopped

asking himself questions about who he is and what his true role in this world is.

My newfound unique style of blending iconography and abstract painting is somehow an

endeavour to continue humanity’s perennial e?ort and desire to capture and express the

depth of the invisible world via visible materials, to have a glimpse of the heavenly realm via

earthly instruments, akin to Plato and Malevich’s line of thinking.

In my work, I try to find an image of the elusive other shore - where every soul aspires to go -

and trying to find artful means to communicate what is di?icult to express in words.

ELIZAVETA DAJOSE (Artist Name: Elize)

Elize daJose is a professional artist, sculptor, iconographer and illustrator.

Her artworks primarily consist of a unique blend of abstract art and icon painting, experimenting with various materials, although her favorite media remain acrylic painting and ceramics.

Born in Moscow, Russia, her life as an artist started at a very young age. One day on a snowy street in her hometown, she bought Kazimir Malevich’s book from a peddler which turned her consciousness upside down and defined her entire life path.

From 1996 to 2000, she religiously undertook painting, sculpture, and graphics in various workshops of Moscow artists.

Since 2001, she has been working in the creative workshops of the Babushkinsky Sculpture Combine and in 2002, she became a member of the Moscow Union of Artists, sculpture section.

From 2002 to 2010, she actively participated in group exhibitions at the Central House of Artists, Gallery on Kuznetsky Most, Darwin Museum, and Timiryazev Museum.

In 2010, she participated in the Annual Art Juried Competition in Los Angeles, CA, and became a laureate.

In 2011, she took part in the collective exhibition "Woman Day Art Exhibits" at the Pacific Design Center, Los Angeles, CA, and in 2012 she had a solo exhibition "Three Artists" at Liz Loft Gallery, LA, CA.

In 2016, Elize moved to California and actively participated in collective exhibitions, including the "Summer Exhibit" at Bergamot Station Art Center in Santa Monica (2016), "Brain Art Event" at Lark Gallery/The Chiari Project in West Hollywood (2017), and "The Art of Transformation" at Brick & Mortar Loiter Galleries in Long Beach (2023), among many others.

In 2025, Elize was awarded the Silver Medal at the New York International Art Juried Competition, "The Light from the Other Shore."

In 2026, an essay featuring Elize's creativity and spiritual development was published in the book "Revelations of the Artist - Deep Calls to Deep", curated by ArtServe International.

Elize is an active member of the Los Angeles Art Association and Riverside Community Arts Association. She is currently represented by Lark Gallery in West Hollywood and Literary Engineers, LLC in Benicia, CA.

I embarked on my journey as an artist just a few years ago, initially experimenting with colored pencil sketches. As my artistic exploration evolved, I delved into the realm of digital manipulation, utilizing graphic software to transform my creations in diverse ways. However, it was my collaboration with AI that truly ignited a new chapter in my artistic development. Working alongside artificial intelligence infused my creative process with fresh inspiration and boundless possibilities. With each artwork, I strive to evoke emotion and resonance, hoping that my pieces will resonate with your hearts and find their rightful place in your lives.

Daniela Gerson is a Los Angeles based food photographer, stylist, and creative director on a mission to show the world that VEGGIES ARESEXY! Daniela began her career as a chef in Kauai, HI with a passion for sourcing colorful produce from local markets. She then moved to San Francisco where she built a successful boutique catering company and expanded into food photography. Eventually Daniela moved to the Los Angeles area where she currently works as a full time stills and motion image creator in her gorgeous prop-filled studio near Venice Beach. Daniela partners with renowned brands such as Zwilling, Kikkoman, Empress Gin, and Vermont Creamery bringing their creative campaigns to life.

Daniela is sought after for showcasing the beauty of real food and capturing the vibrant hues and rich tones of fresh fruits and vegetables. I was born on May 25, 1961, in Yerevan. I graduated from School #65 named after Leo and continued my studies in Leningrad, earning a qualification in civil engineering. Returning to Yerevan, I worked at the Municipal Executive Committee. My passion for art, particularly miniature and portrait painting, emerged in childhood. Since 1993, I've been an honorary member of the Armenian Artists' Center, specializing in folk miniature art. Since 2007, I have dedicated myself to depicting portraits of 132 Catholicoi of All Armenians on ostrich eggs, showcasing my talent in miniature painting, engraving, portrait painting, and illustration. My collection is unparalleled globally. I have showcased my work in various exhibitions, including international ones organized by AJA in 2015 and 2017. My distinctive artistry has earned me a place in the Armenian Guinness Book of the Year 2012-2015.

As a professional makeup artist for many years in the entertainment industry. I love transforming and sculpting faces of every kind, but I often wish I could freeze-frame my work, which some how vanishes with the night. Now, through my passion for working with my hands and creating hot bronze and cold cast bronze sculptures. I am able to forever capture subtle emotion and beauty with the finest detail. I am embracing this process with the utmost wonder and zest for what lies ahead. Now, when people view or touch my work, I am filled with joy and satisfaction that they will be able to enjoy it for a very long time.

“Turning to such visual techniques as fragmentation of the whole, glitch, and deformation is essential here. These creative tactics are decisive for the essence of the artworks: they are permanently suspended and disorganized, thus resembling the atmosphere of mighty dreams or uncontrollable experiences. Reflecting on the experienced emotions in the paintings, I activate the process of distinguishing my own “Self” from the collective “Self”. All my experiences, impressions, and scenarios of life events culminate in geometric shapes saturated with gradients and smooth human and plant outlines.”

“The destiny of man is to become divine” was the call I heard at age fifteen while watching a documentary on Sri Aurobindo in France in 1958. That message was such a contrast to my Catholic vision of God sitting on a cloud that, right there and then, I knew my life purpose would be to awaken people with films like this one had done for me. My heart sank when Mom declared that film school in Paris was a place of perdition and sent me to architecture school instead. It set me up on a lifelong journey of twists and turns to follow my heart against all odds. I quit architecture, put myself through film school, embarked for India twice, failed twice, ending up working in Hollywood instead … with some success, but deep down I felt like a failure. I was making mainstream television, not the films I had set out to make when I heard the call.

That’s when I signed up for a painting retreat at the Esalen Institute where our teacher Michele Cassou declared, “The product is none of your business.” Disturbing childhood memories arose when I painted, filled with anger against my mother. On the 3rd day, I exclaimed, “I’m finished. I’m ready to paint a Madonna!” “How do you know you are finished?” Michele asked, insisting that I keep painting. Reluctantly, I surrendered to her demand and let go of control. Twenty minutes later, I was enthralled painting tiny flowers on the mantle of the mother. To my amazement, it transformed her gray cloak into the sacred robe of the Virgin, metamorphosing the Dark Mother into the Good Mother. Suddenly, my anger was gone. It transmuted into a state of grace with warm silk dribbling down my spine. That's when I fell in love with process art painting.

“Painting For Life” was born. I would do with paint what I couldn't do with film.

Noelle Imparato is a French American artist based in Baltimore after spending 30 years in Los Angeles. She facilitates her “Painting For Life” workshop while writing a 2-volume book. Vol. 1 pioneers Painted Memoir as a new literary subgenre by fusing writing and painting into an alchemical practice that heals and reveals. In Vol. 2 she explores the method she developed with her "Painting For Life" workshop over the past 20 years.

Noelle has done an Artist Talk about her book at the Baltimore Museum of Art, and art galleries in the US and Paris, France.

Once the book is published, Noelle plans to exhibit the 40 paintings featured in it with an oversized model of the book as a multimedia artwork. She also curates Group Shows with her "Painting For Life" workshop's attendants.

Through my art, I seek to help others experience a spiritual awakening — to rediscover inner harmony, hear the heart at deeper levels, and remember the Song of the Soul. Izabel Raa is an award-winning Russian-born American artist, music composer, and author. Her paintings serve as gateways to meditation — vivid portals into states of balance, serenity, and awakening. Drawing on years of spiritual practice across diverse traditions, Izabel creates works that transport the viewer into a higher emotional and energetic resonance. Her intention is to restore love, wonder, and healing to one’s life through art infused with presence and soul.

Her creative path has led her through many Places of Power across the globe — from the Himalayas and Mount Uluru to Mount Fuji, the ancient temples of Nepal, Thailand, and Bali, as well as the mystical landscapes of Sedona, Mount Shasta, Monument Valley, and Hawaii. She has also journeyed to the Amazon jungles of Peru, the Egyptian pyramids, and the sacred dolmens of Russia. Each of these places nourishes her art, infusing it with the spirit of the Earth and the infinite Cosmos.

Her artistic journey began in 2013 in California, where she started painting in oil while simultaneously composing music — crafting electronic, cinematic, and meditative soundscapes that evoke both intimacy and vastness. From ambient and experimental sound worlds to piano and string compositions filled with emotion, Izabel’s music transcends genres, exploring the mysterious bridge between sound and color. Izabel’s first exhibition took place in 2017 in Sedona, Arizona — the mystical heart of North America. Since then, her artworks have been exhibited in the United States, Italy, India, and Russia, featured in numerous shows, art events, and spiritual festivals dedicated to mindfulness, Buddhism, yoga, Hinduism, Orthodoxy, and Shamanism. Her paintings now reside in private collections and meditation centers worldwide.

She also creates energy portraits — personalized paintings attuned through meditation to the unique vibration of each individual. Working from a person’s photograph, Izabel channels their energy onto canvas, crafting custom artworks delivered globally.

I make art

to communicate

what I cannot communicate with words;

what I need to say

about what's going on in the world around us;

what I cannot fix;

what I wish I could make different

with my paint and clay

or metal and wood;

I work very hard at it -

always with my hands,

smearing, scraping, sanding -

until the experience becomes intimately personal;

communication is at the heart of every creation,

wedded to a humanistic concern;

I yearn with passion to make sense of it all;

only after I am personally satisfied

a conversation that has found its way in the work itself;

Julienne Johnson is a multi-disciplinary artist whose practice includes drawing, painting, sculpture, and assemblage. She has been engaged professionally in a variety of other creative disciplines, most notably songwriting, with both Grammy and Dove Award nominations to her credit. Her latest music was released in Oslo, Norway, April 2019 for award winning producer, Knut Asphol. Her poetry has been published in the United States, and the UK. Despite her success in these areas, Johnson's most profound connection is with the visual arts – her strongest, most direct form of communication.

She trained classically as a fine arts major at Taylor University, Indiana and continued painting representationally for the next ten years doing commissions, while exhibiting minimally. Much later, after re-settling in Los Angeles, Johnson returned to studying art briefly at Otis College of Art & Design in 2005, transferring to Art Center College of Design in 2006 where she custom coordinated a Master’s-level type program and was mentored by the late Franklyn Liegel.

Since 2010, Johnson has been honored with 5 solo exhibitions across the United States, including a solo museum show at the Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Art; her sculpture and paintings have been included in numerous museum shows around the world, including: Armenia, Japan, China, Qatar, Italy and Thailand. Her work can be found in 7 Museum Permanent Collections internationally and can be viewed on permanent exhibition at the Arab American National Museum in Michigan, and several museums in Italy and Thailand. Residencies include: China, Italy, Japan, Thailand and Mexico.

Her work can be found in private and corporate collections across the globe. She resides in Southern California.

She studied at UCLA and Art Center College of Design. Kessel then embarked on a business and entrepreneurial career, but continued to take photographs, concentrating on the natural landscape. In the last decade she has returned to Fine Art Photography, immersing herself in the natural world in a quest to capture and share the beauty and magic she sees.

Kessel is especially interested in using photography as a component in healing, and her work can be found in medical and non-medical spaces around the world.

Taking "reduce and reuse" principle to the next level I build abstract 2d and 3d compositions with found objects from hi-tech world. Disassembled practical gadgets become pieces of the puzzle that join paint and clay in my artworks. The concept of my current series "Deconstructed" resonates well with "Evolve. Women. Wisdom." theme. It deals with the evolution of knowledge (computers, phones, robot gears, data, concrete) into wisdom (balance, minimalism, harmony, intuitive awareness, abstract).

Lina was born in Kiev, Ukraine, where she graduated from the School of Visual Arts. She has always strived to find balance between her passion for arts and interest in technology. In 2000 she obtained a

masters degree in computer science with a specialization in multimedia and creative technologies from USC, and now enjoys a successful career in software engineering. Lina has pursued her interest in visual art and has studied ceramics and sculpture in Los Angeles since 1996.

Linas clay and mixed media creations have been very well received in exhibitions at the Orlando Gallery, The Style Lounge, Pacific Design Center, VIVA Art Center, American Museum of Ceramic Art, Xiem Gallery, Red Dot Gallery in Palm Springs, Neutra Museum in Silver Lake. Her art is in private and corporate collections nationwide. Lina participates in the Annual California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Art in Davis, California, and is a member of Los Angeles Experimental Artists group.

My art is imagination of created things which do not exist in everyday life. The purpose of my life - is creation of the fantasies. I was always attracted to science fiction books and movies. I put my images of my fantasy’s creatures in paintings and sculptures.

Faina Kumpan was moved from Odessa, Ukraine as a political refugee. She graduated from the Theatrical Art College in Odessa. In her not very exciting childhood, she was dreaming of other worlds. She was obsessed with science fiction.

Her emigration to New York opens the new opportunities. She worked as a designer and changed a lot of different professions. After moving to LA she returned to her love for art and Science Fiction. She attended numerous classes at UCLA Extension and many private workshops. She exhibited in many important galleries in LA and NY. She creates a fantasy world that is a once surreal and abstract, whimsical and vibrant. Whether creating painting or sculptures, her subjects are mystical creatures from another world, like fantastic figures stepping out of the pages of the futuristic fairy tale. She was participating in many group exhibitions.

She was awarded as a creative artist by City of LA for working together to celebrate Los Angeles as Creative Capital of the world. Her works are in many private collections.

The land has always been a reference and source of inspiration for my art. My first paintings were watercolor landscapes. But wanting to work more conceptually, I began to ask questions regarding issues that combined formalism, globalization and those concerning the environment. These queries led to using both abstraction and representation in an attempt to bring an awareness of the earth’s profound beauty and fragility. However, deciding to do something more proactive about the environment led to a four-year gardening project; one that fed artist/gardeners and built community within a community.

The projects that followed began my investigation of perception using photography, but always viewing it from the eye of a painter. Photographing the garden, I created close up images of the heirloom tomatoes and their insides.

Then began my experimentation with process and perception. The first series realized a life-long dream of combining painting and photography in the same image, using photographs of walls and natural objects from my travels. The second series experimented with emulsion, releasing the translucent image of a photo from its paper background. Current bodies of work use the emulsion technique, in addition to archival pigment prints on Slickrock creating a synthetic three-dimensionality.

Kunik was originally a plein-air watercolorist, but wanting to work more conceptually, she returned to school, earning a BFA from Otis College of Art and Design. Informed by environmental and global issues, Kunik’s abstract paintings began referencing these same issues, prompting a four-year community gardening project, which also explored photography and perception. Thus began her investigation of process: combining photography and painting and a unique emulsion process for photographs.

Kunik has been in more than 100 exhibitions in galleries and museums in California, New York and internationally, including Italy, Germany, Japan, Thailand and Peru. She recently received three Gold Awards and five Awards for Excellence for her work at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum. She has shown at Art Basel, Art Basel Miami, and Photo LA. Kunik was born in Chicago, Illinois, earning a BA degree from the University of Illinois and an MS from DePaul University. She moved to California in 1978, where she currently resides.

My art name is Lark - the bird that lingers between the earth and the sky. We artists do it at the moment of inspiration and meditation. That's how I create my art. I meditate and start with the spontaneous movements of my instruments; usually it is not a brush. A brush makes me think. My instruments are usually just pieces of cardboard. I also paint on any surface – canvas, board, plexiglass, glass, wood, etc – and I love to experiment and see what happens. My best creations take place in a state of no mind.

Although I begin the way abstract expressionists do and use some sumi-e techniques, eventually most of my creation starts shaping as abstract or impressionistic landscapes as ocean, sky, trees, flowers and mountain views start appearing from the formless. Nature is my source of inspiration, but instead of landscape details I channel nature's moods, the feeling of being one with nature, and swimming in its atmospheric light.

Light is what drives me to continue working. My mission is always to bring more light to people around me with my art, poetry and meditations. I know that viewers feel joy, peace and harmony when they look at my work, enter and settle inside it because it heals their emotional wounds and it makes me happy. Being an artist is an opportunity to express the fountain of my creative energy and at the same time serve people's needs in beauty that will heal the world.

When people perceive the light, the high and playful energy that my paintings emanate, they start feeling they are back in the fairy-tale world of their childhood, when their soul was open to transformations and miracles, and they feel like Alice in her enchanting wonderland.

From the beginning of her art career, Lark’s art caught the attention of art lovers and gained recognition from art jurors including LA Weekly critic Peter Frank, Santa Monica Museum Art Director Lisa Melandri and MOCA curator Alma Ruiz.

I am a builder at heart, with a lifelong history of building computers, networks, information systems, websites, and even homes as a real estate property developer and licensed contractor.

In 2021, I believe I was divinely guided to Dr. & Master Zhi Gang Sha who is a medical doctor, a Tao Grandmaster, and a recognized master of 7 ancient eastern arts: Qi Gong, Tai Chi, I-Ching, Kung Fu, Feng Shui, Chinese Calligraphy, and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Master Sha is the sole lineage holder of an ancient one-stroke calligraphy called Yi Bi Zi, a form of “oneness writing” in which the brush never leaves the parchment. Using his life-long training and mastery of ancient philosophies, eastern arts, and healing disciplines, Master Sha further developed this sacred oneness writing into Tao Calligraphy - a revolutionary healing art. Tao Calligraphy is a unique combination of the ancient practice of one-stroke Chinese calligraphy and the spiritual essence, frequency, and vibration of the Tao.

Together with some other students, we have opened Heart Center LA which is a community center dedicated to sharing the wisdom and Tao Calligraphies of Master Sha to help our community become happier, healthier, more empowered and more enlightened. We look forward to collaborating with other open-hearted individuals and groups in the spirit of unconditional love and Oneness.

I paint what touches me most. Something in my life or in the world around me that moves me deeply. It may be joy or it may be sadness and worry.

Just painting what I feel brings me closer in touch with who I am and what I feel, it helps me process what I might not otherwise understand or be able to digest or let go of.

My artwork always had to do with feelings, my feeling about the world, people, and my relationship with them. I always have put it on paper since I can remember.

Like the feelings between mother and child, that are our most complete bond, or portraits of an emotional mood, that seem to come just out of me when I feel a certain way and sit down with a brush and canvas, to capture the emotion.

Regine Legler Bio

Regine Legler was born in Berlin, Germany during the last days of World War II.

Her first exposure to art was a dark, brown door her mother allowed the family to draw on with chalk, which Regine did frequently. Everything was a canvas, including her schoolbooks, which lead Regine to her first commission; being asked by her fellow classmates to help them with their homework assignment to draw Napoleon.

Regine’s formal education in fine art started at age 17 when she enrolled at the Staedelschule in Frankfurt/Main Germany. There she began a two-year study of figure drawing, portraiture, landscape and still life under Walter Hergenhahn, a student of the renowned Max Beckmann. Later, she underwent three years of intensive study in oil painting, acrylic and watercolor at the Freie Academie in Mannheim, Germany.

In her early years, Regine drew and painted scenes of dreams and emotional situations in a style called Fantastic Realism. Then, in 1994, her interest shifted to wildlife and American Indian scenes. Today, Regine’s style has evolved from Fantastic Realism to a more realistic and personalized technique to create a very bold look and tone to convey strong emotions.

Regine holds juried membership at Women Painters West, Southern California Women Caucus of the Arts, Venice Art Forum, and has taught college-level classes at Santa Monica College and the Fashion institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.

My photographic art intends to visually stimulate one's mind while bringing awareness to the interwoven connection between nature and society. Photography allows me to capture the changing environment around us, the positive and the negative. Through my multilayered imagery, I’m able to incorporate a positive message that all objects on our amazing planet posses value. My passion for sustainability runs deep, and I embed my spirit into everything I create.

Gerrie Lewis left the corporate design industry to follow her dream of becoming a photographer. Passionate about nature and concerned about the impact of waste on Earth, she set forth to create an environmental message through art. Traveling to exotic and not-so-exotic places in the world, Gerrie began her journey. In this moment of History and Time changing I find any form of Art to be a tool of beating both the odds and the pessimistic approach towards reality. I am not necessarily a scholar or a profesional but I can sense that the Artist energy has the power of changing the dynamics and even the landscape of the present times.

I am a Moldovan Native self-taught Artist born at the end of the cold 80s who decided to travel to the US in search for a better life and a different art perspective. I am eager to find out how the East and West would connect in order to invent new ways of creative pathways and self expression.

I am an internationally known photographer from Moscow, now living in Los Angeles. Over 12 years of professional work in Russia I have done major magazine covers, and worked with top business and entertainment celebrities. I have also shot hundreds of portraits, wedding, boudoir and high-fashion sessions in my traditional, romantic style, which led to being asked to teach Master Classes in Moscow, Paris, Nuremberg, Rome, London, Prague, Santorini, and many other cities.

I made my home in Los Angeles after meeting my husband. I started painting in America because I was overwhelmed by the natural beauty of this amazing land, and the richness of colors, the diverse exoticism, and the amazing openness and friendliness that reflected in the vibrant and dynamic culture I have discovered here. This did so much to fire my imagination! I soon realized that the emotions I was experiencing could no longer be confined to photography. I needed to express this through painting. I especially love working with acrylics combined with unique variations of surface textures. Most of the techniques I employ I came up with as a result of contact trial and error, which was driven by my ever-increasing passion for painting.

It has been said by people far more talented than me that Art Will Set You Free, and it has been the greatest joy of my life to be able to express my love of the freedom, openness and joy of the Universal love by putting those feelings onto a a blank canvas.

I like to make pictures that explore the inner life. The physical works are expressions of a life within my life. They are also a way I can connect directly with people through their eyes.

The core of my work is a search for beauty. When I find it, I feel gratitude. This experience of gratitude is, for me, the heart of my worship.

I use a camera and Photoshop, mostly, to find my images these days. I experience them first on a light screen and they evolve there. Some of my pictures are transformations; photos of natural objects that I import into Photoshop and some I build from scratch there.

My pictures are closely connected to music (particularly as they relate to harmony). I vertically stack and blend layers, typically using 10-20 layers

in a piece.

I've also discovered a new way to work. As my pictures evolve, I save history states and create new starting points from them. They are like branches extending from the main trunk. These branches are developed in parallel with the original image. I can move motifs back and forth from one file to another and I finish with a family of pictures with a similar essence.

Three recent families I call "Angels", "Light Chord" and "Light Wave".

There are a number of wonderful tools in Photoshop which allow me to generate waves, morph between rectangular and polar coordinates, build spheres and spirals, etc.

My art is opening into a new world today. I find my inner feelings and visions reflected there.

I made pictures from the time I was the tiniest child my parents tell me. Since a career as an artist wasn't honored much in the 50's in America (the two words most associated with artists at the time were starving and crazy), I studied chemistry as a possible career path.

My love for art unexpectedly reawakened in my sophomore year in college and I knew then that my calling was to the senses, particularly to beauty in art and music.

I studied art at the Art Students League in NY during my vacations and went on to get a Masters Degree in art from the University of Hawaii.

I was briefly a partner in a gallery in Greenwich Village in the 60's and moved from there into a 30 year career, designing home textiles.

In evenings and on weekends I pursued my personal art which evolved from painting into photography and then to the digital dimension.

I live in Badger California in the foothills of the Central Sierra. It is a small community of cattlemen, small farmers, semi-retired world class scientists and spiritual devotees.

It is near a spiritual and educational retreat center called Seven Circles Retreat which I helped establish as a manifestation of my spiritual practice which is called Subud.

I expect to see my little town of Badger develop into a "learning community" for new arts, agriculture and science in the future (a probable impossibility). A community that integrates human life.

I’m an abstract symbolist who works with color, texture, shape and storytelling imagery to convey my wonder and appreciation for this earthly experience we call life. I want to excite the sensibilities, to engulf, saturate. I have many messages but, mostly, my work invites others to address and confront the power of simple beauty, the incunabula, the unknown, rites of passages, epiphanies, rebirth. Transformation is a constant in life and essential to our evolution. Each step we take is sacred and decides the journey. Every breath requires a new commitment to courage. My paintings examine the personas, the bodies, the heavens, dark and mysterious corners, the stopping places and launching pads of the soul. I’m deeply affected by the style of the original artists, the cave painters. Scientists opine they were women. These days my studio features drawings by DaVinci, photos from the Webb telescope and undersea animals. I live in the crossfire of science, art and personal healing.

I am often thoughtful of unity and through-line, I seek to convey a freedom and visceral truth that is unencumbered by any one message or agenda. This allows me to construct each work with a joyful, exploratory energy.

My doctoral study revealed "the secret history" of the Balkans during the Ottoman rule (1393-1878) by studying manuscript marginal notes. After graduation in 2008, I started to re-create and re-interpret Byzantine and South Slavic iconography and manuscript illuminations, and to educate Western audiences about the simple and meaningful illuminations of Slavic scribes by using gold and metallic inks and acrylic paints, embellished by Swarovski crystals. The illuminations reflect the joy of spirituality, emphasizing the themes of the Light within and without and the Tree of Life as major inspiration. Since 2009, "Sacred Illuminations” has participated in 60 juried shows, including 35 juried solo gallery exhibits, and 82 festivals, bazaars, and fairs, in Texas, New York, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Holland, and Bulgaria. I am an artist in Altadena, California, USA, with a background in biochemistry research. I always viewed my scientific research as being aesthetically driven. I have a Ph.D in biochemistry and a master’s degree in mathematics. I conducted graduate research on designing symmetric protein assemblies and postdoctoral work on dynamic synthetic nucleic acid devices.

Though many in the world of academic science share my aesthetic motive, I personally met with a lot of resistance in regards to my own work. That experience, combined with a growing public sentiment against science in the United States, motivated me to create math and science-themed art. I learned calligraphy to develop a modern-day illuminated manuscripts theme in my fine art. I also ran with the theme of tile design, integrating Islamic geometric motifs into tilings such as the Penrose tiling and other algorithmic aperiodic tilings. I found connections with geometric construction, the genetic code, and other mathematical concepts.

Recent projects include papers on how to unite Islamic geometric motifs with the framework of certain aperiodic tilings. I presented this work along with artwork of related themes at the 2022 and 2023 Bridges math art conferences, and the 2023 Hatfest conference in Oxford.

Illuminated manuscripts are front and center in my current work, as I develop a hybrid approach combining hand-calligraphed, illuminated pages with printed pages typeset using fonts created from my own calligraphy.

I hope to create work that reveals the organic foundations of humanness.

As a woman, I believe there are always parts of ourselves that carry the innocence and curiosity of a little girl. That energy—the wonder, the fearlessness, the vulnerability—still lives within us.

"Mirror Twins" are characters that many people can see themselves in. I choose not to reveal too much about them—I’d rather let viewers discover their own meaning and stories within the work.

Now more than ever, artists and creatives must stand up for the value of art. Even when the world isn’t ready to hear our voices—especially as some are being censored, edited, or erased—we must keep creating. It’s painfully clear that many of our communities are being silenced and pushed to the margins.

As an artist, cartoonist, creator, and teacher, I’m committed to encouraging others to stand boldly and make art that speaks truth. My own journey is always evolving. Maybe it’s okay that I don’t reveal everything. Maybe my role is more about connection—and keeping a few secrets of my own.

Cristina Natsuko Paulos is an award-winning artist, animator, cartoonist, designer, and educator. She currently teaches commercial arts and digital media at a high school in the Clark County School District, and works as a freelance artist and workshop leader. She also likes to remind people: she’s a good human.

A BFA graduate of the California Institute of the Arts, Paulos’s work blends fine art and illustration, often featuring mirrored or twinned characters, expressive portraiture, and imagery inspired by real life. Her style draws heavily from cartoon aesthetics and deeply personal themes, creating a space where vulnerability, identity, and duality intersect.

Her original animation work has appeared on Sesame Street, and her artwork has been exhibited in prestigious galleries including La Luz de Jesus, Giant Robot, and the Cirque du Soleil Contemporary Art Collection. She has also been featured in two published books: Garden of Eye Candy and La Luz de Jesus 25: The Little Gallery That Could. Her films have screened at festivals in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, and she has collaborated with puppeteers to create toy theatre performances.

Since relocating from the San Fernando Valley to Las Vegas in 2002, Paulos has received multiple grants from the Nevada Arts Council, including two Jackpot Grants, a 2008 Artist Fellowship, and a 2005 Sesame Street Workshop Scholarship.

Paulos works with a wide range of materials—ink, paint, dye, handmade paper, canvas, wood, and mixed media. Her process is rooted in the philosophies of drawing, aiming to expose the raw, often hidden elements of identity.

“My artwork derives from life, juxtaposed with the cartoon world,” she says. “Using drawing philosophies, I try to reveal the marks we often try to erase—the flaws, the discomfort, the quiet parts of ourselves. Whether through cartoons or figures drawn from life, I explore what it means to be fully seen, completely vulnerable—naked, beyond form.”

My inspiration comes from Nature and the wide world of culture, including Literature, Religion, Mythology, and the Visual Arts.

Joan Pearson is a Los Angeles artist, working at this time exclusively in soft pastel. Her work is in collections in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada.

Iuliia Pozdina was born in the city of Perm, Russia in 1992. At the age of 5 she went to art classes, that's where her introduction with art began. In 2007 she graduated from an art school. Then in 2011 she graduated from a local college where she got her Bachelor's degree in Architecture. After graduation she started her freelance as a watercolor artist. She painted celebrities’ portraits in the beginning, she then moved on to nature, cities, animals and many other things.

In 2014 Iuliia moved to Los Angeles where she continued her freelance as a fine artist. She took photography courses at LACC. During her life in Los Angeles she worked with a clothes designer to create sketches, also she was a personal art tutor, a content creator for a sound engineer and a children's book illustrator.

Iuliia has won awards in many art and photography contests. Also, she has been participating in art exhibitions and galleries in Russia and Los Angeles County.

Lisa Rasmussen is a painter, art advocate, environmental artist, and educator. She was born in Wisconsin and has her roots in Scandinavia and Ireland. Lisa comes from a working class family, who has always supported her to follow her dreams to become an Artist. Her late Mother, Mickey was Lisa’s Muse, she fostered in her the practice of Art as being a form of expression and personal healing. Early on Lisa developed a thirst for travel and distant cultures. A key conceptual element of her artistic process is the study and travel to ancient cultures and sacred sites around the world. Some of her travel adventures include Nepal, Peru, Ireland, and Brazil. She has also lived and taught English in the mountains of South, China, as well as she had studied antiquities, the Art of the Renaissance, and Ceramics in Florence, Italy.

For her painting is a very visceral, physical, and metaphysical process. Rasmussen’s paintings have been called abstract expressionism, with a spiritual twist. Her paintings reflect her holistic worldview and her deep connection with the natural world. For Rasmussen, art making is a transcendental experience. When she paints, Rasmussen taps into a force greater than herself; a force that creates through her. Each painting is a product of her dance with divinity. Through her process she hopes to invoke in herself and the viewer a deeper connection to the world within and around.

Lisa Rasmussen is an award winning artist and educator. She is the Co-founding Executive Director of the new paradigm, award winning Art 4 All People LLC in Malibu. . She has over 6 years experience working at high-end fine art galleries in Chicago and San Francisco. She has sold original works created by Picasso, Chagall, Rembrandt, Dali, Miro, among others.Lisa is also a professional Transformative Artist and Teacher. Currently her work is being represented at a San Francisco Bay Area Fine Art Gallery. Additionally, Lisa pioneered an award-winning expressive art program for emotionally traumatized and abused youth in Oakland, and developed a professional art gallery for the residents of Lincoln Child Center. She has also taught expressive art to elders, at-risk teens, and has been an art coach to adults. Lisa is also the Co-Director and Co-Founder of the Non-profit Art is Moving and Art Break Day, which is community art reach event offering people the means and the space to bond with their community via the art-making process.

Lyudmila Rybenchuk is a monumental artist, icon painter. She was born in 1973 in Kyiv, Ukraine. In 1995, she graduated from the Lviv Academy of Arts, a professional artist. The artist works in her own author's style. Produces paints according to its own technology, based on natural pigments and natural wax.

Thanks to this, the paintings are environmentally friendly. She took part in international exhibitions, has personal exhibitions, took part in the painting of churches in Ukraine, paintings are found in private collections in America, Canada, and European countries.

The art that I create is deeply inspired by nature and its vivid colors, and by the societal issues that surround me. I see art as “the definition of infinity”; my work explores the continuous transmutation of the evolving essence of life and nature. Visions and words turn into colors and textures to create new narratives in this dimension of infinity.

As an artist, I feel that it’s important to bring awareness to the world regarding various problems that affect us, as a whole; therefore, I focus on sending out a message to everyone, about real problems that the regular people have, trying to make each person think about what an individual’s impact in this life is. I am convinced that we all must leave a legacy behind us for the future generations and my job is to transpose this concept from my art to my public. The purpose is to make my fans and the ones who see my work understand that Future, Hope and Success of the next generations start with every one of us. We should not say “I hope” - we should always say “I am hope” – this is at the foundation of my compositions.

Turner is a self-taught artist; she holds degrees in economics and biology. Her paintings hang in private and corporate international collections, and at Haegeumgang Museum in South Korea. Her work has been featured in various art publications. She received the Woman Art Award from MUSA International Art Space in 2018 and 2020. In January 2020 she was awarded with the Leonardo da Vinci International Prize - The Universal Artist, which she received in Florence, Italy.

In June 2021, Turner was part of the curatorial team who organized the art exhibition of HRH Archduchess Gabriela von Habsburg, in Romania. Turner was also one of the main media sponsors, along with Forbes magazines, of this European cultural event.

Turner is an Associated Professor at the University of West, Visual Arts Faculty in Timisoara, Romania. She is the author of "The Business of Art" - lectures and seminars.

My public sculpture has often involved the creation of virtual movement through the switching and dimming of light modules within the piece. These pieces are kinetic in that they appear to move with a smooth action.

I have worked a lot in neon and more recently with LED lighting. The electronics that control the lighting elements animate the structure and give it the impression of movement. I have often tied these control systems to some kind of environmental factor, i.e. the movement of people in the vicinity, the wind or the light in the area. These factors are captured through electronic sensors and then translated by the control system into programming signals that change the behavior of the sculpture.

I am fascinated by structures that are geometric and yet organic, much in the way that a sunflower is both of those things at the same time. I look for these kinds of forms and patterns in nature and try to translate these into sculptural forms and into lyrical motion patterns, something hard to show convincingly in still images. At times I have also used music as another elements that will run alongside the visual motion of the work.

I generally work with a small but highly talented team of electronic engineers, mechanical and structural engineers, electronic engineers, lighting designers and specialist fabricators, when the project is too large for me to build myself. I have always loved technology and relish the opportunity to use it as a tool in the creation of an

Philip Vaughan

Philip was brought up in France the son of English parents and went to boarding school in England at the age of 9.

Philip studied architecture at Cambridge and then transferred to art school graduating from Chelsea School of Art.

While doing graduate research at Northumberland Polytechnic art school, Philip completed his first large public kinetic sculpture, the 48ft tall Neon Tower erected on the roof of the Hayward Gallery in 1972 on London?s South Bank Art Centre.

He worked for some years teaching at the City of London University while he experimented with inflatables and kinetics

Philip sailed to the US in a boat that he built himself, arriving in 1980. He now keeps that boat in Channel Islands harbor. He lives in Altadena and Oxnard, working on sculpture, drawings, paintings and public art commissions.

Most recently Philip has been building large steel sculptures at the Buffalo Creek Art Center in northern Nevada and working on neon works and paintings in his Altadena studio.

My artwork is energetic and experimental. It explores the use of color using different textures and styles. I use collage and de collage interchangeably. In a rhythmic pattern. The layers I use in my paintings mirror the expressions of my everyday life. Built on an identity that is ever evolving and changing.

I aim to break free from the constraints of a pre-existing identity or structure in favor of an open, less defined self.

Through the deliberate dismantling of structures, I create an environment that is both disrupted and fertile for new ideas and colors to emerge. I paint because I have to. And the only authenticity is what I put together, based on my desire for them to be together.

Los Angeles-based artist Francisca Vergara was born in the USA with ethnic origin from Chile. Her vibrant, colorful painting mostly incorporates collage. Her medium is paper and paint to create layers of texture. Francisca likes to defy traditional norms in painting and create a new understanding of life and beauty with color.

In 2010, Francisca left her job at St. John’s Hospital for a journey of self-discovery after a difficult time with her career in mental health, having graduated with a Masters in Social Work from Boston University. After getting an apartment in Santiago, Chile, and a university job as an adjunct professor, she came across an art store, and the owner came out to greet her. He invited her in to take a class, though Francisca had never taken up a paintbrush before. The experience was surreal and life changing. She ended up painting with the instructor in her private studio for about a year. She returned to California with a renewed vision for a future filled with art. When Francisca returned to work in mental health full-time, She stayed up late, took days off work, and went on artist retreats. In 2018, she had her first group art show in Venice, Italy, with It’s Liquid Art Space, along with various other shows in New York, and the greater Los Angeles area.

In 2020, when the pandemic hit, she quit her work as a Mental Health Therapist for a Sexual Assault and Rape Center in Compton. She now paints fulltime and has work on display at ArtLounge Collective

My work is consistently inspired by an interest in the natural world and the collision of that world with the world of architecture and human beings. There is no literal reference to these influences. However, there is an emotional reference, distilling and merging the elements that make up the complex landscape of our modern experience whether urban or rural. The people, places and things that reveal themselves are nonspecific and yet perhaps are recognizable as something known or remembered. like that name or that word you struggle for on the tip of your tongue. A non-pictorial representation that is deeply intimate and suggestive, where the tug of sensation comforts, or pinches, stirring up emotion and memory: mind photographs that reflect everyday life and the way it impacts one: sunlight and shadows: stillness and movement: sound and quiet.

The pieces themselves are created from water mediums and other mixed media on a multitude of surfaces usually in series. I begin by laying down a gesture, which leads to color, shape, and form until something in it moves me, like a Rorschach inkblot but infinitely more subtle. Images are built layer by layer through translucent color washes, scumbled paint, markings and collage made up of bits and pieces of cast off materials that enrich the surface to reveal a lyrical, magical and often mysterious world.

A native of southwestern Michigan, Stephanie Visser relocated to sunny southern California. Educated at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids Michigan. She continued her education in fine arts and painting at Western Michigan University and Pasadena College of Art and Design working with artist and painter Mary Winterfield a well-known painter and educator.

My paintings come out as attempts to "translate" from ideograms and fantastic hieroglyphs that I see in the patterns of nature, most often in the tree bark.

It is like listening to a song in an unknown language. Everyone will have their own guess of what the words might say, but the main theme of the song will be recognized.I am so thrilled by the moments of gazing into the patterns of nature when intuition gives a glimpse from the world of archetypes. I think that trees are books and libraries that can be read, perhaps as well as any thing around if we attune to it…

My paintings are sort of "snapshots" from the process of reading the Book of Nature by the mind;these "snapshots" are somewhere in between the imagery and the language.The mind projects meanings onto the shapes and lines, but they are being reflected back, startling and puzzling… there is always a sensation of a mirror dialog, of having been "read" yourself by the Book of Nature...

My art is what it is.

I have always been an artist in one form or another.

Everything about my art, I feel, should be transformative, and ideally move the viewer consciously and unconsciously.

Through my art I process my understanding the world, as well as creating my own mythology. This is inspired by Carl Jung, Marie Louise von Franz, and Joseph Campbell.

My dreams are an influence.

Melora Walters is a graduate of Pratt Institute.

As an actress Melora is known for her performances in films such as Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Cold Mountain, The Lovers, and Dead Poet’s Society. Recently she has been in Pen15 for Awesomeness TV/ Hulu, and Showtime/Paramount’s American Gigolo.

As a filmmaker she wrote, directed, and produced her first short “The Muse” in 2017. Shortly after that, she was hired to direct “The Lover in the Attic. In 2018 she directed her script “Waterlily Jaguar”. “Drowning” which she wrote and directed premiered at the Rome Film Festival in 2019.

Drawing on her own lived experience as a woman, Weber creates large scale colored pencil artworks that playfully examine the contrasts of what it is to be a woman in contemporary western society. Most important to Weber, is that she produces thought provoking works of art that can be readily interpreted and appreciated by any individual, regardless of history or background.

In her ongoing “SISTERHOOD” and “(HER)O” series, Weber merges the mythical, religious and historic with popular cultural iconography & moments, to construct drawings which replace the traditional use of female subjectivity with brash unapologetic female figures that are poised as defiant to the viewer. In each series she is reimagining the narrative of (respectively) a chaste pious woman of god as a self-assured/sufficient woman navigating a primarily patriarchal system and the allegorical wilful rebellious woman who is bested by the male hero as the all powerful hero of their own story.

Liana Z. Weber is an Austrian/American artist who creates vibrant, realistic, colored pencil drawings that address the cultural constructs of sexuality, power, identity and gender. She received her bachelor’s degree in arts with a focus on painting & drawing from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Weber's work has received praise from artists like Sir Daniel Winn, Dave Mason, & Helmut Zwerger. Along with showing her art globally, Weber has been featured in numerous publications, such as, King House & Create! Magazine, the latter of which named her on of 2022’s “Top 10 Artists to Look Out For” at New York's Superfine! Art Fair. In September of 2023, Weber was voted Best Independent Artist at the Reno Tahoe International Art Show and was a selected artist for Arts to Hearts 2023 Emerging Woman Artist Award. She is also a founding member of the “She’s a Rainbow Art Collective”, aimed at showcasing female creatives from across Europe.

She currently works out of Innsbruck, Austria.

Edward Yashin (1960) is a Ukrainian artist

from Crimea. He graduated from the

Crimean Art School in 1978. Continuing

his education under A. Martynets and V.

Augumentsev, Yashin graduated from the

Kharkiv State Art Academy in Ukraine in 1984.

As a conduit between a viewer and urban

architecture, Edward creates artworks that

masterfully communicate to the audience

a comprehensive and genuine sense of a

city. Largely focused on buildings’ structural elements, Yashin’s pieces follow a common general theme but each of his artworks bears an unquestionable mark of individuality that comes from the author’s ability to offer an entirely new perspective in every piece that he creates.

Art reflects life. Transition, change, surrender, these are what I embrace in my creative expression. A form emerges from a mass of raw stone. There are no mistakes. When a fissure appears or a piece chips off, it becomes an opportunity to embrace a new direction. The properties of each stone emerges telling its own story which can't be denied. It has taught me to let go of perfection and patiently listen and accept. In addition to stone, there is a beauty in working in clay or plaster, creating something from nothing and molding it into a visual image.

My sculpture often encompasses movement and evokes emotion. I like to tell a story. At times, I have used my sculpture to express and embrace powerful events in our outer world that have impacted us within. The female form has always been a favorite subject of mine. With its grace and sensuality, I look for the unfolding of authentic female empowerment.

I consider my sculpture a gift, providing me with a means of expressing my passion for life. I feel totally fulfilled and at one when it is just me and my creation in process. It is my sanctuary, my inner renewal.

Dey Young began sculpting in 1977 at Scripps College in Claremont, California, learning her craft under the tutelage of renowned sculptor, Aldo Casanova. Dey continued to evolve gaining valuable experience from a number of teachers and artists throughout the US. Her vocational drive took her to Italy where she expanded her talents, working in Carrara marble with Italian artisans. Dey's understanding of anatomy is self-taught and she considers it a gift. In 2006, four of Dey's pieces were selected as Los Angeles County Museum's Special Projects and exhibited on the Art and Architecture Tour. This honor was again bestowed in 2012. Her work was also selected by the National Sculpture Society to be featured online in their LOVE exhibition.

Dey Young works in stone, terra cotta, bronze, cement and acrylic and has been enthusiastically received by many fine art galleries including: Galerie Michael, Beverly Hills, Gallery Milmar, Carmel, Ca., Earl McGrath Gallery, Los Angeles, Janine Contemporary, Santa Fe,NM, Alexander Salazar Fine Arts Galleries in both San Diego and La Jolla, Ca.; the Mary Titus Gallery, Carmel, Ca. James Gray Gallery and ArtLA at the Bergamot Station Arts Complex in Santa Monica, CA.

Her sensuous forms have been described as "possessing an effortless sense of movement, embodying spirit and emotion and representing a nod to the past as well as an embrace of the future.” Dey is an artist of immense passion and talent and is proud of her creative achievements represented in both the beauty of her sculpted pieces, as well as, her successes on stage and screen.

These painterly collage pieces are a continuation of my Beach Rock painting series. I was initially inspired by rocks on a deserted beach. Submerged in water, they reminded me of strange creatures pulsating with spirits, and inspired me to reimagine them on my canvas.

The idea behind my collages was to bring out the mysteriousness I felt about these rocks and make their strangeness even more vivid.

Each collage piece has several vignettes generated in the process, either intentionally or incidentally. They are like mini dramas within a bigger show and, when viewed as a whole, meant to heighten surreal feeling.

The way I see and express nature might have been influenced by shamanistic spirit that I had witnessed as a youngster in my old country.

Young Yun Summers is a Los Angeles based artist. She was born in Korea and came to USA as a high school student. She inherited a love of art from her family and always knew she would be an artist.

Majoring in design in fine arts, she earned her BFA from the University of California, Los Angeles, and worked in retail advertising for many years. However, her passion to be a serious fine artist was not pursued while she was working full-time and raising a family.

After her son went off to college to study piano, she finally decided to fully commit herself to art.

Young started out painting her favorite subjects, such as her family, trees, rocks, things in nature. Then, she began to incorporate collages, as a way to enhance her paintings. Soon the painterly collage took over and became her signature medium, garnering great responses and awards. Lately, her collages have become more sculptural and experimental. Finding beauty and harmony in most unexpected way from items soon to be discarded, while reducing waste and recycle are important aspects of her artistic life.
