Choose a work hanging in this gallery that evokes a musical or poetic response, and send us your answer to it. Our jurors listen, and work that passes the first cut is published on this site beneath the painting, sculpture or photograph that prompted it.
How it goes
Open to living musicians and poets over 16, in any genre. You are responding to a particular work, so start by finding one — the artists and exhibitions are the place to look, and Music & Poetry has what other musicians have already sent.
What to send
- Format MP3, named for the composition
- Length Up to five minutes each
- File size Up to 6 MB
- Bit rate 128 kb/sec is enough for the web
- With it Tell us which work you are answering
What it costs
The fee pays our jurors to listen to your work. It does not buy a place, and it is not returned if your work is not taken.
